Rest is the best cure. Ice or heat packs/sprays may help take the pain away faster. Ibuprofen is an anti-inflammatory as well as a painkiller so will help with any swelling.

But really, if you exercise again too soon you will only end up hurting it again, and probably worse than it was before, so rest for a few days and then build up with slow and gentle movements until you are sure it is completely better.

Use a sports cream to relieve the pain and ice the muscle to reduce swelling and bruising. You may still need a few days to heal, but that will help.

depending on how long ago, how severe the injury is. I would definitely see a doctor. Your shoulder is nothing to play around with. It could be a muscle spasm or even a small fracture, or even something worse. Remember we can't see broken bones unless x-rayed. So if you think that you might of broken it. I would definetly see a doctor right away.

Any wound, whether stitched or not, heals better and faster when it is covered with a sterile bandage. Contrary to popular belief, leaving it exposed to the air does not help. Rather, it increases the likelihood of bacteria coming into contact with the wound, which would only prolong healing.
