Did you have something specific in mind or is this just a slur against teachers in general? Teachers do act professional even with kids whose parents can't handle them.

Im a recently graduated teacher, i agree that you need to be more specific.

All teachers are given strict guidelines as to what is or is not professional.

If in your opinion, a teacher has acted in a way that is not professional, contact the school! Every school has a process for dealing with such issues, depending on what occured, it is most likely that it will involve the principal, the head teacher of the subject, the student and teacher itself.

It may be a misunderstanding, the first time it has occured, or another incident related back to the teacher causing his or her employment to be reviewed.

Not all teachers are unprofessional, teachers work very hard for their students, and maintain a professional attitude at all times.

As to the reasons, who knows? they would most likely relate back to the teacher themselves, or in some cases, the attitude of the school.

I agree with some of the other response. Could you be more specific? What "harm" are you talking about? I agree there are some shady teachers out there, but at the same time, there are more teachers busting their butt out there and still being blamed for a myriad of problems beyond their control. They are expected to be "miracle workers" and parents want that teacher to work with their child more than the other students.
Here's a solution. Maybe parents can be a little more involved with their kids' education. Maybe stop giving them playstation and Teevo, and expect the teachers to make up for parental absence in education? I'm not blaming you per se, but I've seen way too many parents expecting the teachers to basically raise their kids and not want to put in any effort in their child's homework.
As a parent, it is ultimately your responsiblity to teach your child the skills they are lacking. Don't expect teachers to do 100% of the work.

Unfortunately, a number of teachers have "failed" into the profession. That is they wanted to be something else like a doctor or lawyer but didn't have the grades to make it. So they decide to go into teaching because they think its easy. They don't have a taste for the profession. They really don't have the skills and have no desire to develop the skills. Good teaching is difficult to learn. It takes time and motivation. There are good teachers out there. Unfortunately, with the teacher shortages bad teachers are hard to get rid of.

Well, I am in the same situation. Everyone wants to know what my child did to make a teacher want to choke him......he did nothing. And to whomever the guy was that called all kids little demons, they are not. They are our little blessings. My child was punched by another kid. My chil went and told the teacher, and she took the little boy to the office. When she returned to the class, she grabbed my child up and choked him, and yes, she admitted that she did put her hand around his neck. It doesn't matter what he did...if he was acting out, he should have been sent to the office. Some people just don't understand, but I do and it hurts me to see my child like this.

one teacher harms a child and suddenly all teachers are bad? be more specific.. when you say 'harm' what are you talking about? did the teacher 'harm' the kid by not teaching him what he needed to know or something? or did this teacher physically hurt the kid? nobody knows what you're talking about here..

I have never had a teacher in my children's educaton that was not a professional in the way they dealt with me or my children. It is not fair to generalize about all becasue of your experience(s) with one. You have avenues to report situtations that you feel need to be addressed.

just think like a human being, every body have their own problem, and some time they do not know to who or where to leave it. May be you in wrong time in the wrong place and wrong situation. if this situation always happen, report to the authority about it.

Because they have more book sense than common sense.
In the olden days, teachers jobs were a "Calling"
Now it is an education, money racket.
