As a National Spelling Bee Participant, I simply pronounced the words in my head until I was confident that I knew them. But there were words that gave me trouble (your problem, right??? lol). So I often exagerrated their pronunciations. For instance, instead of saying "spuh-GET-ee", I would say "spag-het-tie". Doing this is kind of funny, which is one reason why it helped me so much.
Good luck!!!!

Well, the way is to write the word and say each letter as you write it. Or you can use a "good" study method such as just look at the word repeatedly, and then go flunk the test. Studying takes work. You are looking for a lazy method, and none of them work.

Make flash cards. Put the word on one side. On the other a sentence omitting the word. When you go through the flash cards say the word out loud. For some, spelling the word out loud verse just writing it over and over, can be more effective.

Break the words into pieces you can remember. This works especially well for words with prefixes and suffixes. Example: illegally comes from the prefix il- (not), the word legal, an the suffix -ly (meaning in such a way).

Remember the spelling rules (i before e, except after c, etc), and the letters that go with sounds of words (like s-t-r go together, t-h go together, etc). Knowing those rules will help you spell anything, anytime.

repitition is the best way. once you get your list sit down for 5-10 min. every night and (sorry! don't hate me!) write it out a few times. You could also spell it aloud and have someone quiz you.

if you're a musical person: make up songs or poems to them
if you're an artist: cut out shapes and different colors and write them on the different papers
if you're a learn as you touch person (you have to feel it and experience it and explore it to understand): make things out of the words ( like you see those blocks that little kids play with with the letters of the alphabet on them, something like that) or maybe make up a game with them.

Try to think of little memorable mental devices for each tricky word, i.e. There's "a rat" in separate.
