Let's keep in mind I have no moral conscious when it comes to hell. I'm an atheist. I would be a pure liar for the sake of getting rich.

Well, you'd have a lot of power, if you're into that - but it comes at the price of becoming a freak.

I don't know of any positives. I do know that, in the eyes of most people, you will be looked upon skeptically. This is due to the past events that involved cults and sects. Then there are the reasons that people would join. There are usually people that will agree with just about anything. The reason why can vary, and abuses of power can alter and alienate the others in the group. The same can be said of simple honest feelings between males and females, and how others feel about the sudden unique situation that does not involve them. Another problem is the temptation thing, that I am sure would occur because someone always feels there is a need to test the resolve, guidelines, and "spirit" of the leader. Absolute power corrupts absolutely. Leaders have to be good listeners, not just leaders.

Ups: People are so gullible and easy to persuade, especially if you offer a a big carrot in front of a loser. Don't do your own market research because it has already been done, just study the proven techniques of TV Evangelists, they have it down to a science. Up side....Money, adoring followers, and being considered the right hand of God! If you have no scruples this is the easy part!

Downs: If you have any sense of conscience and dignity, you might feel like a con artist ripping off people who will follow you blindly in the name of God. Adoration's will flow, you will be a disciple, you can practice the most abominable forms of sexual deviation, rip off old ladies, and still be respected, but will it offer you satisfaction? Do you really want a Ferrari in the name of God?

because they're a cult who calls themselves christian yet do not position self assurance in God the son or holy spirit. there is not any reasoning with a cult, they're taught to ignore the training and in worry-free words examine a bastardized verson of the bible which has bumped off and altered the note. Any loose wondering conventional man or woman couldn't swallow the chum they serve and the jevohas coach that in case you do not persist with them, you're evil. No courting ought to live on that.

Well, the biggest "down" is that you will be sent to Hell by the Real God. Also, everyone who knows about you will know that you were the leader of a group and led others astray in to darkness. Which ofcourse will increase your torment in Hell. So, I think I would advise against it. You probably would be better off in telemarketing or something.

The upside is that all of your followers will worship you. You can swindle all of their monies. You can separate them from their loved ones. You can establish a compound in the middle of nowhere. You will be compared to Charles Manson by the media. You can tell your followers that a comet will come to get you, but you'll need to put on these purple gym shoes and have a quarter in your pocket. You can have them drink kool-aid in the middle of the jungle. You can even burn down your compound.

Downside? Is there one?

Well, the ups are you would probably make lots of money, and get lots of girls to sleep with you in the name of God. Downside is you'll have to commit suicide eventually, because all cult leaders have to commit suicide once people are on to them.

there are no ups and downs in religious cults. there were revolts where other cults developed. like Buddhism, Jainism and Sikhism from Hinduism. I hope so for all religions. this is for the welfare of humanity only.
