"Republican Rep (CT) Christopher Shays, said any leader who had been aware of Mr. Foley's behavior and failed to take action should step down. "If they knew or should have known the extent of this problem, they should not serve in leadership, Mr. Shays said.

Mr. Foley, who served on the powerful Ways and Means Committee, also gave at least $100,000 to the party campaign committee in July (when members of the GOP knew about the allegations against Foley for a year) which means the GOP has pedophile-tainted money!!

there is an inquest. Hastert will probable struggle through some consequences at the same time as it really is carried out. each and every time there is any form of wrongdoing the manager is regularly held responsible. it truly is in deepest life besides as in authorities. although they don't renounce, even Bishops were held responsible in Civil matches (even though it has finally been the congregations which have ended up paying damages). Republicans discovered that they did no longer could be responsible at the same time as Reagan were given away with conserving that his subordinates pulled off Iran Contra devoid of him understanding about it. This tact does no longer continually artwork as contained in the Enron case. it really is basically admitting incompetence. as far as Clinton is worried that became a consensual affair with an man or woman. The sex or acceptance of the different man or woman don't have any more some thing to do with it. What Clinton bashers continually forget is that Clinton ultimately regarded what he did and apologized. If human beings opt for to carry onto their resentments after someone asks for forgiveness they are only hurting themselves. those fundamentalist Christianists could study the tale of David contained in the Bible. The Republicans are blaming Democrats because it truly is what they continually do. they say Demos knew about it and timed the launch for political income. likely the Republicans knew about it earlier the Democrats. in spite of everything Foley's better ideal and the proper of the web page software is the guy who must be held responsible. In both cases which will be Hastert. for human beings that declare Foley became innocuous, if he's innocuous why did he renounce?

I think in the moral sense they should step down immediately. For, what excuse can you possibly give for not fully investigating an allegation of child molestation. Not saying every allegation is true, but their is a duty to report it and find out the entire truth. Legally, I am quite sure it is somehow illegal to have knowledge of a crime and do nothing, nothing, for up to a year. Watching the news I see that many of them are pointing the finger at each other now, all of them trying to save their tenuous grasp on the power they think they have. Now I think voters of all walks of life across the political spectrum cannot support these idiots any longer.

Yes, I think the Speaker of the House and everyone else should step down, but you can rest assured that it will not happen. Many Republicans KNEW about this behavior, they knew Foley was a pedophile and hypocrite but they said and did nothing--and are only now crying out because they have been caught red-handed...This is one totally corrupt, morally squalid bunch of people.

I think they should step down. And anyone who doesn't voluntarily step down and is found out to have known about this should be forced to step down or recalled by their state.

Congressional pages are adults, not children. If he is guilty, it is not of pedophilia. That said, I'll be shocked if anyone votes this as 'Best Answer'.
