this manager wants to represent me but in the contract , it states that i agree to reimburse him for plane tickets/press kits/ promotions/development and gig expenses that he puts up for my career.........basically................but i pay him when i get paid of course.......HOW COMMON IS THIS .........REALLY?......SHOULD I TAKE THAT CHANCE???

No. Either get the contract rewritten without that stipulation or find a different manager. It's an old trick that lots of people have fallen for, so be the smart one and don't sign on the dotted line.
