I'm new to the whole driving thing, and I wanted to know how frequently I should change my oil and check my tire pressure. I know how to change the oil, but I only need to know when. I have a Pen thing that will messure the tire pressure, but I have no idea at what number I should be looking for. I drive a 94' Volvo, if that helps anything. Thankyou for your help.

3000 miles or 6 months and 30 to 35 psi. the tire pressure is also in the tire and on the drivers door jam.

Get the oil changed every 3000 miles or so. Your owners manual may suggest 5000 miles. Look on the tires or on a sticker inside the drivers door to find out the recommended tire inflation. You shouldn't have to check the tires too often unless you suspect a leak.

The number on the tire is the MAXIMUM psi the tire can hold(unless you want to have the tires wear out very quickly)..the PSI that should be in your tires is on a sticker on the door or in that area ..or in the trunk of your car...If these are missing go to the nearest garage and ask them what is the recommended PSI..

Oil changes 3000 miles or 6 months..which ever comes first

The sidewall pressure on a tire is the maximum pressure. You should only use the maximum pressure if your tires are carrying the heaviest load that they can. This is rarely true.

Instead, find the placard on the inside door jamb (or sometimes in the glove box or even in the engine compartment). It will list the tire size and correct pressure. As long as nobody has changed the tire size, that pressure is the correct pressure.

Tire pressures are on the door jamb or under the console lid or glove box if not the owners manual. Manufactures say every 7,500 miles for oil changes. But please never go more than 3,750 miles between oil changes. Use good name brand oils. Listed oil weight for your car in the owners hand book. Like 10/40wt. 5/30wt depending on outside temps and car engine requirements. Check your tires weekly until you know how they hold air then monthly should do. and replace your airfilter element at least every 12,000 miles

I used to drive a Volvo & I used to make sure the tyre pressure was 30lb. I have no idea if this was right but I never ruined any tyres so I would guess I wasn't far off. As for oil I just checked when I remembered but I think you should do it once a week

Your oil should be changed every 3000-5000 miles depending on what type of oil you use. I change my oil every 7500 miles per manufacturers book. Written on your tires is the recommended tire pressure anywhere between 35-55 psi. hope this helps.

Change your oil and filter every 3000 miles.
Check your air filter every few oil changes (i think)
For tire pressure, open the door of your car, and look along the lining of the door, there should be a little credit card-sized stamp that says what your tire pressures should be. It could be the drivers door, the passenger door, or even one of the back doors.

oil change every three thousand miles or four times a year if you don't drive more than 12K a year.
The tire pressure is written on the sidewall of your tires. Most passenger cars take between 32 and 36 PSI.
Please read your owners manual thoroughly or go to www.diynet.com before you make some garage owner rich.

Check your owner's manual for the frequency of the oil change. If you don't have one: three months or every three thousand miles is a good rule of thumb. The required tire pressure varies on the tire. It should tell you on the tire itself
