Florida G.O.P. Congressman Mark Foley abruptly resigned Friday in the wake of questions about e-mails he wrote a former teenage male page. Foley is apologizing for letting down his family and constituents. (Sept. 29)

What Congressman Foley did didn't happen in a vacuum. It's my understanding that no choice was given him in resigning. Frankly, sexual indescretions committed by either party are unacceptable whether it be with under or over aged persons. It goes to character. You either have it or you don't. If we expect little of those we vote to represent us we'll get just that, little.

Actally, Dennis Hastert's office had report's about Foley's emails in Sept. 2005 -- and House republicans had been sitting on the story for months.

Oh! And I LOVE how his attorney said that Foley is NOT a pedophile, he's an alcoholic with a behavioral problem who has made some bad choices!

Have you actually listened to the news. Some of the Republicans have known about Foley for a year and the only reason he quit is because the news CAME OUT.

There are perverts in all walks of life, why people think politicians are any different is a mystery. One of the biggest perverts of late is thankfully former New Jersey Governor Jim McGrevey. He is such a pervert that he had to go on Oprah to talk about his manly love. I am sure his young daughters are very proud of him. Repuglicans are so much more moral then democrats with good bible thumping morals the kind that you find in Fla. If I was a repuke I would be so proud to know that my speaker of the house knew about this indiscretions a full year before anything was done about it and then only because of a media leak. The republicans knew he was a pedophile since late last year, so they didn't get rid of him quickly. So they harbored their perv until it hit the news.
