That really depends on what you are looking for. If you enjoy the mountains and a bit more of a desolate area, Sedona, Flagstaff or Payson. If you are looking for a city, Tuscon or Phoenix which have a ton of suburbs like Chandler, Mesa and Gilbert.
If you are looking for a golf course lifestyle, Scottsdale. Cowboys would love Cave Creek.
To be honest, there are just so many great places to live in Arizona you really have to take the time to get to know them all before being able to make a decision

I would definitely recommend Tempe, Mesa or Scottsdale!!! There is so much to do in that area and they are all safe areas to live in!!! You have the Fiesta Mall in Mesa off the Superstition Freeway @ Alma School Road, The Arizona Mills Mall in Tempe off the 10 freeway @ Baseline. Also up in North Phoenix there is the Metro Center Mall!! Also, you should visit the Botanical Gardens and the Phoenix Zoo up in the North Phoenix Area!!! If you go up to Camelback Mountain to go hiking!! Plus over in the Downtown area there are all the different museums to visit!! So, I would say that the Phoenix area would be good for you!!! Good luck and have fun in your new home.

I am a native of Arizona, I recommend either Flagstaff. It's decent in the summer, but just sorta OK in the winter. Although I've heard it hasn't snowed in awhile. Also another place to consider is Oak creek canyon, slow paced there. Then there is also Sedona.

One of the most beautiful places I've seen in all of America is outside of Sedona, AZ. Sedona itself is very touristy and incredibly expensive. Flagstaff is nearby and is inexpensive as well as being interesting in its own right.
