ok you said prediction, but I see someone here is just quoting from spoilers...maybe from wikipedia.
Anyway, great show, and it manages to keep us guessing a lot despite the limitation on that- since we know exactly where it leads to. I think this season they'll focus on him and Lois as a lead up to their relationship post-Smallville. He'll probably because more involved in journalism maybe with Chloes support. Maybe some jealousy between Chloe and Lois as Lois gets closer. Lex continues getting more and more evil. I hope Lana and Lex either break up or Lana dies....but we know that won't happen since she appears in Superman II....but then again the movies and Smallville sometimes contradict each other....who's right in that case? Whoever is true to the comics.

Oliver Queen shows up as the Green Arrow, and eventually he and previous Smallville guests The Flash, Cyborg, and Aquaman decide to form a quasi-Justice League and ask Clark to join.
Clark will continue to wear lots of red and blue clothing.
Lex will continue his "descent into darkness."
There will be trouble in the Middle East. Oh, wait, that's not Smallville.
Jimmy...I mean, "James"...Olsen will refer to Clark as "C.K." because it sounded so hip and cool in "Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman."
Clark will continue angsting about not being able to be with Lana/not being able to tell Lana the truth because she'll be in danger even though a bunch of people already know and except for Pete they turned out just fine.
Lois and Lana will appear in revealing clothing, but Chloe, sadly, will disappoint the real fans by not doing the same.
There'll be at least six episodes where a cast member is "possessed" by another entity or some other thing and spend the episode "not being themselves." I figure it's Martha's turn next.
Superman fans will continue to gripe about how the show is really screwing with the accepted continuity, as everyone in the DC universe who isn't yet licensed out for his own movie franchise (i.e., Batman) and their mother turns up in Smallville.
Somewhere in Los Angeles, John Schneider will order an MGD at the bar, look up at the TV set and see "Smallville" playing, and quietly whimper into his glass. Later he's order a #2 Extra Value Meal at the McDonald's on Sunset and Western, where by coincidence the guy at the drive-thru window is Sam Jones III.
Five miles away in West Hollywood, Brandon Routh will get hit on repeatedly by the same buff guy in leather pants.
