This really depends on what you want. I personally love metroPCS. I only pay $45 a month plues taxes (so about $55) and I get to talk all i want whenever and text all i want. Plus there's no contract. The downside is that it's not available everywhere yet, bc they're pretty new and still expanding.
Then there's cingular, I'm not a big fan bc you pay a bunch for few minutes and the service is crappy.
Verizon's ok. But one of the most expensive.
Sprint and Nextel have crappy servicew unless you use the walkie-talkie (so all your friends have to have nextel or else you have no one to walkie-talkie with)
T-Mobile's good too. More minutes for your money and I hear the service is ok. Other's say it sucks. But if I didn't have metropcs I'd have t-mobile. everyone I know that has it is pretty content with it.

Verizon is the best carrier by far, I am unfortunately unaware of the plans or phones but I have always carried a LG and it lasted me well over 3 years. I am employed at Nextel so I am unable to carry Verizon at this time, but the first chance I get I am going back. Coverage is most important and they have the best!

verizon is good for a plan, but they are very expensive. virgin mobile is great if you dont talk much, but it is a pay by the minute plan, which isnt great if you use your phone all the time.
