It is perfectly normal to be 14 and not have started yet. The age to start is from 11 - 16. If you haven't started by the time you turn 16 you may need to see a doctor about it then.
Don't worry about this the longer it takes to start it, the longer it will be before you suffer "the Curse."

OK, your question is a little messed up. If you are very thin, not eating! You are not healthy enough to have a period. If you are 17 and haven't had one, you must be anorexic and this is, as you know, an illness. so, that's the answer, if I understood the question. You need to eat, you need iron, B-12, Folic acid, all your vitamins and minerals to be healthy...that's a fact. So, force yourself to eat before you loose your teeth, hair, bone density and the ability to have children or live any kind of life that resembles normal. You must get help if you can't do it on your own. Not a lot out there that people can afford that's why I ask you to do it for yourself if you can. Please!!!!! The only other reason is if you are very, very athletic, and I assume since you are being told you are not healthy it means that's not the case. Or, if you are very overweight, this can keep you from havinfg your period also. so, try to get yourself together and if needed see a Dr.Please!!!!

I did not get my period until late 16. I was very active then and so I just figured it was because of that. My aunts didn't get theres till late either. I am healthy and have a child too. It will come soon enough believe me and then you will wish you never got it, camps, bloating and so on. If you are that concerned talk to your pediatrition or an obgyn, they will be able to answer you in more detail.

That's perfectly normal. My cousin didn't start her period until she was almost 16... before then she was straight as a board... people thought she was like 9 or 10. Once she got her period and her body finally started developing... DANG!! Homegirl is almost three years younger than me and has bigger ta-ta's than I'll ever have! It's fine, don't stress, it'll happen when the time is right.

First, if you are that concerned, see a doctor. Second, girls get their periods at different times, so it probably won't be that big of a deal.
