im most ways it is better than alcohol because one cus its a universal solvent, and the atmospheric pressure is pretty convenient for most things, forgot y alcohol is a o-k solvent

Water is a universal solvent due to its polarity. However, most organic compounds may be dissolved more readily by alcohol.
