It depends a lot on the company and where u live (state). In order to become a CPA you need experience and after that you can earn 100,000+. Starting accounting pay is like 40,000-50000. Starting mechanical engineering pay is like 55,000-70,000. After some experience you can earn 100,000+ as well for mechanical engineer if you climb up to a management position or you a lead engineer or something.

Let me tell you that you have to be pretty damn smart for both these jobs. Mechanical engineering is hella hard. To become a CPA is not that easy as well. If you smart and study hard you will do well.
