Do a speech about sleep. It's easy, interesting, and everyone can relate.

Choose something you know about... it could be changing a tire, breeding dogs, making chocolate chip cookies, or cheating on scantron exams... and do a "how to" speech. Make it fun by demonstrating some aspects, or choose something silly like "how to read the signals in a baseball game." Go with it!

"How nothing interests me"
"How I spent more that 8 minutes coming up with a topic"
The topic must interest YOU. Go on a walk and think about what interests you. Then explain it to others in 8 to 10 minutes.

Do a speech that teaches people how to do something you like to do.
That way, you already know your material and if you can use props, that's great. I once did a speech on how to make a balloon animal. Got an A. Good luck.

You are supposed to do a fun topic, so Conan O'Brien is as good a topic as any. I LOVE his "in the year 2000" segments.
and the stuff about him BEING A GOD in Finland, and actually being involved in their elections. It's a hoot. Go with it.

I don't know if this is your style or not, but my best friend once gave an excellent speech on what she called "household horrors." It was an enumeration of all the disgusting/gross habits of her family. You could change it to "dorm dread" or something like that, and discuss the horrors (if any) of dorm life!

what else interests you?
It may not be yours, but my topic would be the Yankees or Mets and the craziness that will come to New York if there were a "subway" World Series

Oh my....... Wednesday is just few days then and you still have to make outlines, practice, practice, practice and practice..............something that you think can be of interest of the audience........ since your audience are students like you, then you might choose a topic something like "how to save money while in college"; "techniques to study"; etc. something that fits to them or something that can be of important to them........ I wouldn't choose a topic that is political,,, that's a boring topic..... GOOD LUCK!!!

No. You must speak about something that interests you, even if you think it is trivial. If you pick a topic you don't care about, you will bore the class to tears.
