Yes, it depends so much on how north or south you are. The further north you go, the more dramatic the light and dark periods are in the summer and winter. You will witness the midnight sun in the summer and the polar nights in the winter. Further south in Oslo or Bergen or Trondheim, you will have dramatic differences in light according to the seasons, but not as extreme as up in Tromsø or Hammerfest, etc. I can only tell you about my own experiences in terms of temperature. In September in Oslo, it was somewhat warm and clear. Perfect weather. In Tromsø during the same month, it was cold with snow on the mountains. The Gulf Stream plays an important role in Norway's temperatures. The temps are not as cold as they would seem, given Norway's high latitude. Such a high latitude in the western hemisphere has much colder temperatures, since it doesn't have the Gulf Stream bringing warmer air up.

in some parts on norway(where i used to live, by the way), there is only about one hour of daylight during the winter. It is by the arctic circle, so it becomes very cold in the winter. The summers are still considerably cool. But as of the past couple of years, the tempuratures have been increasin, due to global warming. Still not very warm though.
