keep smiling and just be patient they might not know they are the dumb on they may think it is someone else

Sounds to me that YOU are the dumb one.
What makes you such an expert on stupidity? Being at the top of the class.You also used the word friend in your question.
You are no friend I would want.I would take this friend on the side apologize and hope he or she doesn't kick your as*.
