I am currently in my first year of university, and I was wondering, for those of you who are in college or university, how many hours a week did you find was good to work?

I just accepted a job that's 15 hours a week. I work 3-hour shifts, Monday to Friday. I don't know if I'm going to be overwhelmed, or if this will be a good fit. How do you find working while you're in school?

I'm majoring in education. Also, I work in a daycare centre, so during the week is the only time I can work.

Well 15 hours isn't alot. But then again what is your major? Things like Pre-med require a lot of studying. Jus put it like this can 3 hours a day of not studying bee too much for you?! If not then fine. I personally think that 15 hours is nothing, and when I was in high school I would sometimes but in 25-30. and i felt i could do moree... Maybe if u feel that its 2 much since its everyday, u should have your boss take away 2 days during the week and give them to you on the weekends instead. That way u dont have to balance both school and work so much on the same day. I hope i helped.

way hard. it wasn't that bad when i was doing my general courses, however now that i got into my nursing classes I'm doing good to work Saturday and Sunday. you really have to take time each night to look at some of your class work. also just some words of advice there are some things that are just facts and can be simply remembered, however if you need the courses to compliment your major don't just memorize to past the test. read and understand the material and learn the concept behind. it takes much longer now but when you get into you classes for your major it will be easier to pick it up if you know the content. i know this is totally off your question but just felt like sharing......good luck

The first year, I worked 10 hours.
The second-third years, I worked 20-30.

I needed the money, and I am debt-free now.

It just depends on your class schedule and your homework. You can probably manage the 15 hr part time work.'
