on sunday around 11 am i get back home from a 24h overnight call, the time that my landlord is the most noisy, her kitchen is next to my studio...i havent been able to recover from lack of sleep , what to tell her? " attach noise absorbant o the wall?" " talk less?"

you should tell her about how well you can hear her through the walls;and ask her if she can tone the noise down. if THAT doesn't help, then you should report her for nuisance.

did you try asking her to keep it down? You are a paying customer. Living there long? You could try rigid foam insulation cut to fit and snugged up to the wall but that would be an unfair expense to you unless you could deduct it from your rent. Unfortunately, her noise time is well within the guidelines for disturbing the peace. Earplugs are much cheaper.
