i really don't know the situation or your son.

but, there are sleep problems that even kids can have, like sleep apnea, that could be the problem. You would need a sleep specialist or a sleep clinic to find out if that is the problem.

Around our house ( a 16 year old and an 11 year old ) we use alarm clocks. But the trick is to put the clock as far from the bed as possible. Once they get up to turn it off, it is not as hard for them to stay up. Works for husbands too!

I'd suggest keeping around 2 alarm clocks. One slightly close, and the other you can hear but you can't see.

Perhaps you can have him sleep earlier at night so he can wake up earlier in the morning?

make sure he gets to bed early. take the things out of his room that he uses instead of going to sleep eg a tv, computer, telephone, music or whatever. you're his parent, be forceful, parent him.
