They both are organized to make money. "Non-profits" use profits from operations to increase the salaries of the primaries while "profits" return the money to their investors.

They both have a product they are selling, one helps the community and is not sold at a premium and the other is.

They both need to make a certain amount of money to stay in business.

They both have operating expenses and employees.
