Hush now!
"Hurricane season" isn't over yet; and remember, Hurricane Wilma came late in the season last year, and trust me, it was no party to endure, even tho it didn't come near to pack ing the punch of Katrina.
Speaking as a South Florida girl,,,, mentally we really really needed a break from the stress of the last few years of the unusually high number that DID hit us.
There are still blue tarp roofs on many structures around here, and going through the town of Arcadia, Fl, there are people living in old wooden houses where huge oak trees were blown on the roof crushing half the house. They don't have the means to rebuild, no insurance, and no help from FEMA. Heck, there are still plenty of FEMA trailor parks where people have lived a year +

because no major hurricanes have developed yet, and none have come in area of florida. Also just because its hurricane season doesnt mean there is going to be a hurricane, this is just the timewhere most hurricanes are likely to occur.

Well, there certainly have been less hurricanes this year than last year... but actually, we're very close to average so far this year, in terms of numbers of tropical storms / hurricanes. It seems like there have been less this year because most of the storms have been hundreds of miles offshore. Winds high up in the atmosphere frequently have been steering the storms away from the Continental U.S.

There are so many factors that contribute to why hurricanes form and when they form. As of now there have been some hurricanes and actually we have more total tropical systems this year than average.

hurricane seaon doesn't mean there has to be a hurricane, it just means that right now, the most likely chance for a hurricane to come is in hurricane season. (I don't live in Florida, or watever, i was on vacation there a month ago!)

Hurricane Season is a statement of probability, not a predicted guarantee.
Why would you expect weathermen to be accurate months out, when they can't predict the week-end?

the temperature for this summer was higher in almost every state which call for a windy fall the mixes of the temperature just doesn't fit for a hurrcaine to last long if it forms like last year i didn't have to burn a.c. it was a cool temperatur all summer and when katrina hit she not only affected people right there she got me as well i'm 1 state away. but you can expect tornadoes to do damages this year

Because no hurricane has come close enough to the US to make landfall yet.
