In the open market, you can go out and buy Ferraris, BMW's, Ranaults, Mercedes-McLaren, Hondas, Toyotas, etc. Formula One teams use their races to also promote sales of their regular cars worldwide. Based upon the F1 history, latest racing success, glory, charm, etc. What brand attracts you? What car would you like to own? What would be the determining factors to steer you towards that particular car maker?

I would probably get myself only Honda cars. It is because ever since I got hooked onto F1 back in 1999, I have always supported an Honda powered team as my dad had owned Honda cars only in his whole life. It was Jordan Mugen Honda from 1999 to 2002 (Heinz-Harald Frentzen and cool Eddie Jordan did an awesome job to get third in the drivers and constructors championship in 99). I then switched to supporting B.A.R Honda from 2003 onwards when the team really got their act together by recruiting team boss David Richards, technical director Geoffrey Willis and took a big gamble in signing Jenson Button who was not having a good F1 career at that time and what a season it turned out to be in 2004 when Button got third in the drivers championship and Richards steering the team to an amazing 2nd in the constructors. When I heard that Honda would be buying the B.A.R team for 2006 to make it as their own to commemorate their 3rd generation assault on Formula 1 as a works team, you guys can only imagine how happy that made me feel. Last but not least, the fact that Honda is the 3rd most successful F1 constructor in the whole of F1 history behind only to Ford and Ferrari.

Ferrari ...
Because Ferrari isn't like The other formula 1 teams(for example Toyota and Renault And BMW)make all types of cars including the Sport Cars.
But Ferrari put all it's Experience In Super And Sport Cars In Formula 1 Races So It's Successful Team.
And I'll Buy It Of Course
It's A Great Deal :)

Only one answer for me - Ferrari. And it is not because they are the best nor the fastest (which they probably are in F1 now but that is not the reason). It is just that I have fallen in love with one particular car - Ferrari F50. I think this is the most beautiful car ever made.
Yes, I am a fan of Schumi (long before he joined Ferrari but especially after he did that:) ), and yes, I am a fan of Ferrari - the best team in F1 according to me. And if I needed more reasons to buy F50 (more than the fact that it is my dream) - well, that will be more than enough. :)

F1 cars and "normal" street cars are totally different things..
I would never buy any "normal"/street car because of the team i support in F1.
But more likely I'd still buy McLaren F1 :)
it's fast and sexy!

p.s. i really don't like ferrari, almost hate it :))) maybe exactly because it's so popular - everybody likes it - no matter if rich or poor, intelligent or dumb.. so, it's not that special for me any more and even if it was EXTREMELY rich, I'd NEVER EVER buy Ferarri.

Here's an proposal. Spend approximately $18,000 on a fully restored '70s muscle vehicle and make investments the leisure of the money. In forty years while you're competent to retire you can have $one million.five hundreds of thousands greenbacks within the financial institution.

Lotus elise, they haven't been in F1 for a while. It is a street legal f1 in my book. The engine is made by another manufacture and it is light. So light in fact i can pick mine a full 2 inches off of the ground in the front.

Now that Spyker is in Formula One, I would probably opt for a Spyker road car. There are no real determining factors why I would buy one, except for the fact so few are made every year and nobody else on my street (make that the whole country) would have one. :-)

Aloha from Down Unda!

Enzo Ferrari or the 'knock-off', like the custom T1, "F1 for the Road" as featured in the URL below! The Lamborgini might also be considered merely because of the low profile & sleek lines. But those gull wing doors on the Enzo Ferrari ARE special! Thanks for askin'!! ;-))
