They can vote but can't drink. What else can't they do? Are they legal adults with full rights or not? I am annoyed by this term "minor". The older I get (39) the more I think this experiment has failed. Cops are spending all their time running after young men with beer or grass who are harming no one. Enough is enough. I say lower the age limit back to 18. Cops should spend their time running after killers and robbers instead. My place was robbed and the cops didn't have time to do anything about it. To busy with beer-busting. What do you think?

I agree... if 18 equals adulthood then 18 year old people should have all the rights, privileges, responsibilities and consequence that go along with it!

If you can be in the service then you should be able to drink. If you can be held legally to a contract at 18 then you should be allowed to drink. You also should be held accountable for your actions when injuring someone in a vehicle. Then it is no accident but a crime. Remember that!!

Get into politics and start a special interest group to get the drinking age lowered. The govt tried it once in some states but all the you people were killing themselves and others in car accidents.

I concur. If you're old enough to get killed serving your country, get married, get a loan, get tried as an adult then for pete's sake allow 18 yo to drink alcohol.

I was in college when the drinking age changed from 18 to 21. Let me assure you that the amount of alcohol consumed didn't drop a bit.

drunk people = more accidents and dead people. This is statiscally proven and more drink type accidents are caused by young people thereby leading to a higher drinking age. Younger people are pretty much more irresponsible, thus a lame argument, why don't you pic one that might actually lead to thoughtful debate, like why can a person be responsible enough to fihgt for our country nut not be able to vote for their commander in chief?

I agree, it is almost a complete waste of money and resources. Cops don't even make people stop, but rather just give them fines.
