I'm a little timid, but I still get approached by all the wrong guys...stalkers, dirty old men, bums, etc...so, maybe I'm unattractive to NORMAL men. Wish I knew the answer to your question

It could be that being timid makes people look unsure or not confident. It could even make you look fearful.
Confident looks and behavior can make people appear more attractive.

Timidity is fear and is fear attractive?
timidity is being fearful of yourself, your thoughts, your words, your actions
and being fearful of others' thoughts, words and actions.
There is nothing attractive about being scared.
Fake it till you make it.
You can be shakin on the inside but no one has to know. Self talk is a BIGGGG deal!

When you hide behind your own discomfort and anxiety (of being judged by others) you pay more attention to yourself than others. Other people pick up on that, and assume that you think you are too good for them, to notice them or to talk to them.
When you make it all about other people (extroverted) you ask them about themselves, you notice them, and you acknowledge them. They think you are friendly and extroverted. You put them at ease and break the ice. You attempt to establish rapport.
That makes people feel good around you, thus making you more attractive to other people.
