1/2 (half) 14 3/4 (three quarters) 21 1 28. etc. etc

in a sense he is right. there is the avoirdupois pound and the ounces used in weighing gold is different I am not sure however about grammes. the metric system is absolute ane a gramme weight is the same.The fluid ounce is for volume not weight as 1 fluid ounce of water weighs differnt from that of oil
