Well, I can sadly note that the lucky guy isn't me, for I have never seen your avatar--and I surely would remember it if I had.
I suggest that you accept the limitations of contact here and leave nothing to chance on the first contact. In short, "spill your guts" to him (graphic, I admit, but what the hey--we aren't here forever, you know.) and let him know your feelings. Guys DO appreciate honest women--in fact, we prefer them because it makes everything SO easier.
And since you are already certain of YOUR feelings about the matter, it would be the kind and loving thing to let HIM know your status.
Save face? That's not in true love. Protect yourself from disappointment and hurt? That's not in true love, as well.
TELL HIM and let him find his way to you at his own pace. Hey, what do you have to lose and what have you to gain.

Kinda tough Lucy if you don't give us more to go on than this.
I'd have to guess that it's a long-shot to get thinsg started up with this guy, but hey......ya never know what can happen.
Why don't you email him and see if you can find out something, and then go from there?
