In either case, there's a business to run, so they have goals, assets, income, expenses, employees...... in many ways, they're a lot alike. Both have a board overseeing them... difference there is that board members for a profit organization are typically paid, non-profits aren't.

And for the responder who says their CEO's make a ton of money - well, some do, and they get the headlines, but many do not.
