I really don't know because the standard beauty for a black person is usually biracial. What's with the "pretty babies"? Aren't all babies beautiful regardless if they are biracial, triracial, multicultural or not. What's with the "good hair" and "pretty skin"? How does hair texture and skin color make someone pretty?

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. If you think someone is pretty, then they are.

And personally, I think many black people have great character and beauty, whether they fit the present society's ideal or not.

Because over the centuries Black people have been told that the darker skin and "nappy" hair isn't beautiful Black people were even called animals and sub human. We have been abused as a people and denied a fair history. All of this and other factors have kind of made us ashamed of who we are even though we know there are many beautiful things about us. And this is not just in America it happens in Puerto Rico, South Africa and everywhere else that "Blacks" have been esthetically oppressed So now we are still stuck in that mind set. In addition all people are kind of like that, Whites are the opposites of Blacks I feel for these reasons only
Whites want tans and full body hair with some curl
Blacks want fairer skin and less curly/unruly hair
So its not just Black people that feel that way I know many White who would love to have a mixed baby over a just White baby. I think it's becuase every one is really into the current trend of"exotic" And being mixed I'm caught in the middle.

But have to disagree that all baby's are beautiful I looked like a naked mole rat.

But this also has to do with a culture that you are personally clashing the boundary with. It's like the whole Why do Americans like busts but Brazilians like buts? Every culture has it's standard of beauty.

I am white living in the city of Detroit, which is mostly black. I see beauty in all races. If a person is good on the inside, it is shown on the outside as well. I feel that most biracial women and men I know are very beautiful people. It is their mixture that makes them individual and also stronger people. If you think of some entertainers who are mixed, it makes sense.

I have a bi racial half sister and I am very proud to claim her as family even though it is evident she is not all white. I think she is just as beautiful as my own children. I think there is beauty to be found in every race. I love the look of Antonio Banderas....dark and mysterious. I also think Wesley snipes has a beautiful build. Well muscled and defined but not bulkyor overblown. I think denzel wahington has beatiful eyes because they seem to reflect a gentle soul. I think Cameron Diaz has a fun look about her, she looks like she would be fun to be around. I love Queen Latifa's evident self confidence and self assurance. I think you should be comfortable with the skin you are in and that is what defines beauty to me. Whether you are black, white, brown, pink , or red, or yellow does not make a person beautiful. It really boils down to what they do to others and how their attitude about themselves reflects the beauty inside that makes the biggest difference to me. Beauty is only skin deep, but ugly goes down to the bone.

hmmm, black people. I used to have this thing where I wouldnt date anyone darker than me, which was wrong. But you can't knock anyone for having a personal preference. All People are beautiful but just not to everyone. Even from a black/(BROWN) persons perspective. You just have to be able to count the positives (good hair-not nappy and manageable) But the baby thing almost all of them are ugly unless they belong to you.

yes, I have seen very good looking blacks some were male and some were female. Now they are not all black , some are brown some are very light sort of blond hair and yellowish skin, but they are definitely *****. Of course there is beauty in every race. of that you can be assured.

YOU knoW WHAT........

I'm sick ...SICK of Racial lines, racial stereotypes, and Racial CRAP .....

DO you REALLY want to know why light-skinned and biracial black types are so-called "more beautiful"

Because for black people, they think it's the closest thing to WHITE and the closest thing to a color that is more respectable----Because for centuries, African-Americans/Africans were brained washed into believing that their dark skin and their thick curly hair was like an inferior dark evil.

It's no wonder a lot of black men choose women of other races in order that their children have nice wavy hair or a lighter complexion

It's no wonder that Black people like Condoleeza Rice in a predominantly White-staffed governmental office, and others who go to (or have gone to) predominantly White, top schools/colleges tend to Straighten their hair and speak in a "white manner" and not with the slang of African-Americans commonly seen in predominantly black neighborhoods.

THE "good hair" and "pretty skin" describes the African-American version of WHITE

There's pretty in everybody. It is a highly subjective thing. I personally do not generally find black people pretty. I have seen some black people I do consider pretty. I even dated one. However, it is not who I am usually attracted to. Everybody has their preference of looks for a potential mate.

That said, there are studies that people are considered pretty if they have body symmetry. It doesn't even matter whether someone is fat or thin or what race they are. From an evolutionary point of view, symmetry probably indicated someone who is healthy.

This question is so ignorant. You must be 12 or something. Get off your mom's computer and go read a book and stop asking dumb questions. There is pretty and ugly in every race!
