If I remember correctly, the world was once a single continent. It's entirely possible that the Chinese are correct, at least from an ancenstral point of origin.
Do some Anthropology research. Start with Discovery.com, National Geographic, and put phrases to Google and Dogpile.

Never heard any Chinese claiming so. Americas are just too far away from Asia to purport that claim.

where have you heard that and why would they feel a need to claim that? im chinese but i dont "CLAIM" latinos are asian.

I think this is in part because the Chinese, as well as the Japanese, learned how to build sufficient sea-faring ships and traveled to Mexico and other Latin Countries, as early as the 1550's.

Haven't heard that news story, but it is believed that the people of the America's crossed the land bridge that connected China and Alaska centuries ago. It is believed that that is the origin of the peoples that were here when the European explorers got here.
