OK first, was this person not working while they were dating? did your friend get married and not know he had a felony? How long did they date? Tell your friend there are some people that will hire and give those that have felonies a second chance so to get off his tush and start looking for work. If he chooses not to work, then his only reason is that he is lazy.

He is not using it as an excuse---after a background check they won't hire him. Life is hell......everyone should get a second chance. There are a lot of big dairy farms in Missouri that will hire someone out of prison. I guess it depends on how serious the felony.

well, it depends on what he did to get the felony. And, do you think he is the kind of person who would want to change. Do you feel that he is someone you could truly be with and love. If so you should marry him. If not, then don't marry him. I'm not saying drop him completely, but try and find a way to change him.

No, I would never marry a guy that has a felony. They can't get really good jobs but they can find jobs (like working for a landscaping company mowing grass) if they are willing to work.

Well, it's too late to tell your friend not to marry this guy. That's why we must think long and hard before taking such an important step as getting married. If this man doesn't make some mature changes quickly your friend's best option may be to divorce him before she starts having babies which would only make matters worse.

Sorry but what done is done and she either sit up and be stuck with a nothing A** man or get a divorce!!! I'm marrying a man with an extensive criminal record but he still has a great job and hasn't made less than $90K/ a yr. So felonies and criminal records don't mean sh** so tell her to get a divorce or threaten his butt with one to get him to get a job!!

My friend hired a man with a felony and he is a great christian man but just had some trouble during his youth. He is definately a hard working man.

Then I guess what he did was pretty bad if no one wants to hire him. However, there are jobs out there for everyone, even if they have a criminal background. It may not be the best one out there, but it beats being behind bars.

There are federal and state programs that work with employers to re-integrate former inmates back into society. He's just using this as an excuse.

I think she should dump him as he is really lazy by not looking for a job... and it depends on the felony
