People like Anchor Cranker should learn a very valuable lesson on life, now that his over sized head is out of the books, not everyone has the ability to be educated in a way he has suggested, we all have bills to pay it's just some people are fortunate enough to be able to pay them all and on time, whilst other people have to struggle, doing silly hours, not having a good Quality of life they so richly deserve, un-like idiots saying well go to college or university, THINK BEFORE YOU SPEAK

I think it is sad that there are Americans working for minimum wage. But raising the minimum wage isn't the answer because minimum wage is the base you start from. Raising the minimum wage raises the base which increases inflation. The period when the minimum wage was raised frequently just caused the prices to go up so those making minimum wage that got the increases didnt gain anything from it because the prices just went up. The only way to beat the minimum wage curse is to get yourself educated for a higher paying job

No, I think the minimum wage is still pathetic - but on the other hand, some people I've worked with are not even worth that much.

Whenever this topic comes up I picture a caveman tribe. there are the hunters who go out and provide meat for the tribe by their hard work all day. Then I picture the girly weak cavemen that want more of their meat because they have no skills to get the meat themselves. They can obtain skills by asking how to use them (much like going to college) so they can provide for themselves without leeching off the hard working cavemen. But then there's some who refuse to use their brains and obtain these skills so they still demand meat for no working.
There should be no minimum wage, you have no excuse for not making money in this world where education is right there waiting for you. although the government should help to fund students, as its hard for people of certain backgrounds to pay for college.

Too Much, if I had my way minimum wage would be set at half what it is now even scrapped.
Get to college / university better yourself academically and improve your wages that way like the rest of us. Stop moaning that your hard done by because the only job you can get is for minimum wage.

Why should there be any minimum wage? If peoples' remuneration was fixed by negotiation without government interference, they may show a little more diligence during their school days.

I think that it should be as high as is possible so it does not cause economic problems. Im no economist but im sure it can be higher than 5.35 p/h.
Also its interesting when americans get excited about their economy, when the british economy (per citizen) is almost identical. So it demonstarets that the free market is not that great
also its a shame they spend all their cash on bombs and tanks, and not on their citizens.

There should be NO minimum wage at all.
The role of government is NOT to interfere into with the right of you and your employer to enter into a private agreement concerning work, and esablishing a mutually agreed upon payment.
Most Americans, however, are too stupid to understand that. The recommendations I make to employers are that with every minimum wage increase, they should immediately downsize and eliminate as many jobs as possilbe, thus paying zero.
Thanks to the liberals, our work force will be destroyed. Increased wages should correspond to increased abilities, skills and the existing job market.

It's about 13 us dollars in europe, we have our citizens in poverty here. that's why our economy is getting killed by the EU and china. If we allowed the poor more money they'd feel safer starting businesses and everything would thrive.
Cons don't like to raise minumum wage becaue they like pounding the poor & minorities to the ground
