In the past I would push, Ctrl+Alt+print screen and then go to word or other programs and do a "paste". I am running windows XP and that is not working. I have tried just "Print Screen" and then paste and that won't work either.

How can I get qet a screen shot of my desktop or what ever I may want a screen shot of and save it?

Thanks

i have a keyboard that uses a the top row of buttons for two different functions per button.. then one button toggels between the functions. so make sure that the print screen button is active and then just hit it and go to paint(easiest) and paste it.

Unable To Print Screen

I always just set my screen up the way I want the picture to be, then hit the print screen button only. Then you go into any type of paint/photo editing software and paste it in. In Microsoft Paint you just open it and go to edit and then paste. After that you can go to file, save as and then at the botton under where you name the file you can choose which format you want (jpg, gif, bmp, etc..) In Adobe Photoshop after you hit print screen you just go to file, new and hit okay. When you go to create a new document after having hit print screen it will automaticly insert the correct dimensions for your screenshot (your window's display resolution) after hitting okay youll get a large blank document and can then go ahead and do a edit, paste to fill the screenshot into your new document. If you'd like only a certain window from the screenshot you can use the selection or crop tools in the software to grab only the part you want. Hope this helps!

First, Restart to clear memory. Then:

Open a new Word doc. Leave it open and minimize it.

Go into another program and press PrnScr. Immediately, click on the button for the Word doc you created and right-click, select paste.

It should have worked - I do this all the time.

Did you have any success?
