the women that were pregnant before im sure were irritated that people came up to them all the time to touch or feel their stomach so why do they do it to others it is very annoying!

Argh! I know! This girl I know was volunteering with me at a communty event this weekend. She just found out she was pregnant. Her stomach is flat as a board still and people she knew were touching her belly already!
I think that is NEVER appropriate. So people- Unless a pregnant woman ASKS you to touch her belly - DON'T DO IT!

I wasn't irritated if mother's that I knew wanted to touch my belly but if a stranger came up it annoyed me.
As a mother I like to touch pregnant bellies (of people I know) because it reminds me of past times. The times when I had life in me. It makes me happy and jealous at the same time!

Please Don't feel annoyed, They should always ask first though. I like to feel a pregnant belly. Being pregnant were memorable experiences for all mothers and we like to remember those times. Just knowing that a baby is forming is so exciting. I liked when people touched my belly, and I think the baby liked it too because she responded by moving most times.

I loved it when people wanted to "touch" baby! So I can completely relate to those people who reach out and pat pregnant tummy's. Now, they should always ask first. I always do. But I think it's just because it is such a miraculous journey to be pregnant and everyone loves to see a big pregnant belly. It's just so darn cute!!!

i honestly dont know but it is very annoying, ive been pregnant 3 times, once with twins (i was huge) and everywhere i went a complete stranger would touch my belly, i finally had had enough one day when this old man walked up to me in the grocery store, keep in mind i didnt know him from adam and he grabbed my belly with both hands i was as big as a house (the twins) so he about pushed me over. i came completely unglued.

This is annoying to the pregnant one, but is almost involuntary. People can't help wanting to connect with the unborn child, especially the ones who are already mothers!
The only way to avoid this tribal instinct is to keep your distance from people. Unfortunately, it only gets worse, as people you wouldn't want to have touching even your pet cat will certainly try to touch your newborn as soon as you take him out in public!

Alot of mothers get the baby syndrome ...I have 3 kids and every time I see a little baby or a pregnant woman I want another baby.....
