I only have one supply line now that is buried from the tank to underneath the footer and on up to the heater. I'm going to install a return line finally and want to replace the original also. I don't remember whether it was L type coiled tubing or what but whats in their now has been good for twenty plus years.

The supply house will tell you for underground do not use copper.
You can use coated copper but your talking about major $$ for no reason.
They will suggest flexible PVC. I just installed 165' of 1" of it myself to run a 3 1/2 ton central heating unit for my shop behind the house. It cost me 30 cents a foot. With tax it was a little over
$50. A 1" riser adapter on each end ($11 each) and a shut off valve with reducer on each end and your in business. That's the way to go in my opinion.

Just go to a HVAC Supply house and they will have what you need....there are actually different pruducts now then just copper.
