1) modem, on serial plug, and you plug the modem to a phone line
2) wifi : PCMCIA wifi card will connect to any wifi hot spot, public or at home if you have a wifi DSL modem for instance.

Either ANY of these:
(1) USB WIFI - Similar to USB Flash, install accompanied cd and you are Internet ready! Go to wifi hotspots area (like McDonald), insert your USB WIFI and when something pop-up on your system tray, check and then connect.
(2) modem - if you're in your house.
(3) LAN cable - if you're in office.

But check if your laptop has already (1) or (2) before buying. New and expensive have these already.

yep, a usb modem - but you would obviously need to have signed up for service with an internet service provider first.

ya it's like a plugging in a usb thing but it goes from your computer to the wall
go to best buy or circut city and ask them and they will help u
