Very good question:
I just started selling/buying things from eBay and I can answer this one for, yes it cost to post things on there and yes it also fees after it sells, now the way it goes is, when you sell something on eBay as you set it up there are things that you pay for like if you want to post pictures: now the first picture is free anything after that is like 15 cents per shot now that is just an example it really doesn't cost very much but, it is worth it if you are really good at writing and wording things, Good Luck....

It does cost to post. it costs less if you put the starting bid at .99C or lower. With no reserve. The first 2 pics are free ( if I remember right) more cost a little. So for 1 item it is only a few dollars.

eBay is the largest online marketplace and one of the most popular ways to earn an income from home with a PC and internet connection. Selling on eBay is inexpensive and easy to start. Ebay has a number of tools for sellers to maximise sales. These are eBay Pulse, Hot items report, merchandising calendar. By sourcing products at a low price, you can increase your profit. They charge a listing fee, depending on the listing cost, if any designer listings are used ex: frame around saying, gallary picture, bold, featured page listing etc. Then there is charge for how much it is sold for. Not sure what the rates are, but it will be stated when listed and on your statement which can be accessed on Ebay when sold.

Others have already answered correctly (repeatedly).
What really bugs me is those who give wrong answers (sarah and Real Mc Fly01). If you don’t know the answer, then why contribute? Anyone who has ever sold anything on eBay knows that there is an insertion fee on ALL items listed.
Why even waste your time answering if the information you give is incorrect?

Yes and yes. It costs money to list (listing fee), and additional advertising (ex. gallery or featured) is extra upfront. When it sells you have a final value fee (I think it is five percent of the final price), and if you use Paypal they will also charge you a fee.
It is more expensive than you think, unless you are doing a lot of auctions.

Yes there is a posting fee of around .35 and there are different fees that show when posting, like a gallery fee and a buy it now fee. I usually only spend around $1.00 when posting.
