Not so much afraid to die as concerned that I will not be able to do all I am able with this lifetime. So much that needs to get done (the mundane) gets in the way of what I'd actually like to do (achieving my potential).
The actual dying will likely be painful and unpleasant: it is for most people. That is disappointing to say the least, but perhaps that serves as a way to help us to let go of this body and accept dying as it draws near.

I am not afraid of the actual end of life, because I won`t know that I have died.Every night we sleep, but are unaware of the exact second that we `fall` asleep. The next morning we wake up. I think dying will be like falling asleep.Once the brain has shut down, we have no further thoughts. However that is not to say that I welcome death.I don`t want to leave the people I love and who love me, especially children.Death is always devastating for those we leave behind, everyday I tell my family how much I love them, because I know that the day will come, when I will not be able to to do so.

On a scientific level nothing ever truly dies- its just the atoms are rearranged. We think of death because we have brains- we fear death because we feel like it is the end to our existence when it is not...
Am I afraid to die- yes and no- for when I die the person I am now will not exist anymore but become something else in the world.

I'm not afraid to die, but I don't particulary want it to happen at this time, with a young child. I want to see him grow and experience life, and so, want to live. But am I ok with death -- it's just a part of the circle, it's how this great world of ours survives.

If you're afraid to die, then life has been too good to you

It is not so much dying. I am more concerned with what happens after death. Do we wink out of existence? Are we reborn? Do we watch over our loved ones and wait for them to join us? I guess with all the different belief systems we won't know until we die.

Yup, but then death is what makes life meaningful.
So, while I AM afraid to die, I'm NOT afraid to live.

Nope, death is part of life. I don't think of death as the end of life but as the begining of a new life and from my experiences with death I have found it is not something to be feared. I live my life as fully as I can and, even when I 'fail' at something, I have no regrets because there is sucess in trying. The rest I leave to God.
