With this latest scandal involving a peodphile republican congressman, also it now their appears their was a coverup. Coupled with the lobbyist scandal; no bid contracts where billions of dollars are missing; to the US officially endorsing torture. Do the bible beating republicans really seem moral and just. Kind of makes you miss that scandalous Clinton years, huh??

administration in U.S. history. My "poorest millionaire," Condoleeza
Rice, had a Chevron oil tanker named after her.
I set the record for most campaign fund-raising trips by a U.S.
President. I am the all-time U.S. and world record-holder for
receiving the most corporate campaign donations.

My largest lifetime campaign contributor, and one of my best
friends, Kenneth Lay, presided over the largest corporate bankruptcy fraud in U.S. History, Enron.

Really, that's alot more deep of a question than you think. We are forced to choose one of two parties because of the nature of our government. If anyone expects any one of those two groups to be the bastion of anything more than just greed for constituents then it's pretty much a case of plain ignorance. Republicans are no more responsible for morality and justice than the Democrats. Besides that, is there really any difference between the two parties? They essentially perform the same function and given the fact that less people in this country vote than speak their minds, whos fault is it that we have a busted system? Speaking as a veteran who has voted since he was 18, i say that i wholeheartedly love this country, but the people in it that don't serve it in one way or the other have no reason to expect that what they idealize as a "good" system is ever going to happen simply by complaining on the internet.

None of the political parties can be defended without reservation. The awful behavior of Foley is that of an individual and is not a position supported by any political party. Crime is still crime. However, when you look at the fundamental positions of all the major parties in America today the Republicans still take the high ground over the finger pointing platformless Democrates—scary isn’t it?

That is difficult to discern in black and white terms, but consider the fact that bible thumping may just be a form of manipulation on some level.

I wouldn't vote for someone just on the basis that he believes what I believe religiously. Just because someone prays to God publicly doesn't even mean that he really does it privately. In my opinion, one who gets on a political podium and uses God to promote himself is more likely to be a self-serving hypocrite than someone who states frankly what he stands for where specific issues are concerned.

The problem is that so many people will vote for someone simply because he states that he is a "Good Christian"

The Devil would thank the Lord out loud to get your vote. A person's good intentions and morals shine through in their actions, not their words - to you or to the Lord.

I have no trust in the republican party, nor the democrat party either. I will vote democrat until a new party that is nationally recognized comes along. I was a republican for years but now am embarrassed by that party's actions.

"Republican leaders have admitted to knowing about Mr. Foley's outrageous behavior for six months to a year, and they chose to cover it up rather than to protect these children,"
Foley, who is 52 and single, was co-chairman of the Congressional Missing and Exploited Children's Caucus. In a statement Friday, he said, "I am deeply sorry and I apologize for letting down my family and the people of Florida I have had the privilege to represent."

The Democrat Party sure doesn't represent morality. Not any more. It has been taken over by a neo-lib faction who believe that government shouldn't legislate morality.

They have been taken over by the Christian Fundamentalist Right wing bigots. These people are unrestructured hypocrites and we are going down a dangerous path with them in power.
