About 15 places on the periodic table, if I remember rightly, so oxygen will be a much denser gas. Oxygen is also far more reactive than helium.

Helium is the second lightest and second most abundant element in the universe, (only hydrogen is lighter and more abundant). . It has two protons and two neutrons in its nuclueus, surrounded by two electrons, so it is well balanced, stable and inert, so it won't explode, that's why it is used for balloons etc. Oxygen is highly reactive and is generally found in compounds with other elements, it is the third most common element in the universe. In its most common form it has 8 protons and neutrons in its nucleus and is surrounded by 8 electrons.
Hope this helps

HYDROGEN
- hydrogen as a valance(the # of electrons in the outer most shell) of 1
- hydrogen 1 proton
- akali metal group on the periodic table
- its in the first period on the periodic table
-smaller elctronegativity
-smaller atumic mass
OXYGEN
-oxygen 2 protons
-oxygen has a valance of 2
-part of the halogen group on the periodic table
-in the second group on the periodic table
-has a higher eltronegativity
-larger atomic mass

The number of electrons and protons in its atom determines what the element is.....you need to look at that and it will tell you the difference between He & O. I am sure you can look that up.

I think helium is lighter and oxygen is heavier-that is all I can think of.
