I have a 99 camaro the climet controle is manual (there is an actual cable that opens and closes the blend air door when you turn the knob), the problem all started when i turned the air temp knob from cool to heat and back to heat really fast. The blend air door got stuck and i had to take hvac cable off to manually turn air blend door back to the cool position. in the cool position the door doesnt seem closed good and air compressor does not turn on. when the blower is on and i manually turn air blend door slightly back to the heat posion (to alow air to be heated by heater core) the door slams shut and is hard to manually open due to a vacume effect. why doesnt my compressor come on anymore? what causes the blend air door to get stuck?

Yes, as I said the blend air door is controlled by cable, I know this because I had to take the cable off. The cable is connected to the hot/cold control panel knob that when manually turned moves the blend air door. I think the door is getting stuck due to an abnormal air pressure that pulls the blend air door closed tight in the heat position. There must be something not working that’s causing this abnormal pressure through the blend air duct. The facts are that the compressor will not turn no for any reason, there are no blown fuses and the problem started when I turned the hot/cold knob (knob manually connected by cable to the blend air door) abruptly to the heat position and when I tried to turn it back it was now stuck and ac will no longer turn on. After taking apart my glove box and blend air cover I’m able to see heater core and blend air door and am able to manually move the door to the outside air position but the ac (compressor) still does not turn on! Why could this be?
