No, I dont think its wrong, it's natural. Its just a healthier way than some of expressing your feelings and thoughts.

Of course there will be individuals that will view you in a different fashion if they know you write erotica, just as they might find it distasteful that there are people that enjoy reading it. Personally, I think the writers of good erotica have an open mind and lively imagination. Bram Stoker's "Dracula" is considered erotica-pretty racy stuff in the Victorian era, though it seems pretty tame by todays standards.
There will always be those that place judgement on whatever you write-erotic or not. Write away-please yourself, and if you're concerned about the world's opinion, keep your writings anonymous.

There is nothing wrong with writing erotica. I do it myself. It's just another form of fantisizing which is also normal.
Some will disagree with me but there is a difference between tasteful erotica and trash. I like to leave enough to the imagination so the reader can have fantisizing while reading. Trash is just gratuitous explicit porn. But each to his own I suppose.
I only write for myself and my b/f. He says I should try to get published. Not ambitious enough I guess. :)

It's not wrong at all!
People may respect you more for expressing yourself.
What it says about the writer depends on what is written, I think.
If nothing else, I'd think it would help you explore or define your own tastes in sex and in writing styles. The under-current of tension is probably the same as ...say...a suspense novel.
Best of all, your audience will be a wide-ranging audience from all walks of life. Everyone is interested in sex!

It depends on the type of erotica you write; some of it can be a lot more tasteful than others. I wouldn't worry about how you think people might perceive your work and go for it; adopt a pseudonym if you have to.

Realistically I think you should make up a writer's name and not use your real name when you write. People these days simply are to judge so fast and categorize you in areas that you probably don't deserve to be in. You get enough backstabbing at work alone or driving on the street to get there. Play it safe.

Do you like your imagination? Do you like to write? Do you like money? Do you like the things that money can give you? Do you like to try what you write? Do you use your experiences in life to your writing? If yes to any of these questions you should know that is where most writers get their inspirations. Good Luck!

Of course not, write to your heart's content. There is even erotica in the Bible.

I write it almost every day. When you have inspiration and talent why not. I think what it says about me is that I am a hot open-minded sensual woman.

No, if that's your passion, write it, but get ready for people asking you if you are writing about your own experiences.
