Yes, get one.
The requirements for one are fairly simple.
Get a large bowl - at least a gallon.
Get the chemical to make sure the water is safe for the betta (removes the cholorine).
Buy the type of food they like.
Get one male betta only.
Feed your fish occasionally - he will let you know when he is hungry.
Change his water at least once a week, cleaning out the bowl, and replacing the water with fresh, treated water. We have a smaller bowl where we put our fish while we change his water.
Enjoy.

Betta's are really easy to take care of.
Purchase a pretty vase / bowl, add spring water and if you like, some pretty rocks on the bottom of the bowl.
Buy some fish pellets (food specially marked for Betta's) and feed them either 7 pellets once a day or 3 pellets 3 times a day. Try to feed them at the same time every day.
Clean they bowls once a month or when you see that the bowl is starting to get cloudy.
Only have one Betta per bowl, they'll kill other fish,, sometimes even the female Betta.
My last two Betta's lived for 3 years each.

I have had a betta fish for about 5 years. They are very easy to care for and don't make a mess. I have mine in a gallon glass container, change his water once a week (I use a gallon of drinking water from the grocery store with no chemicals added). He has some pretty rocks to look at and a plant and is very personable and likes to be talked to and petted.

Betta fish can live in just about any container; a hospital near me has them all over the place in big Ehrlenmeyer flasks with marbles in the bottom - very colorful! Just feed them sparingly, and keep the water clean (change only about 10-15% each day) and your betta will have a long life. You can add plants if you like, too.

For a betta you just need a small bowl or a special betta tank. They are really easy to take care of them; no filter, no oxygen, just food for bettas, a comfy bowl and cleaning once a week. Hope this helps.

You need to know that they require space just like any other fish. You can get him a small tank instead of a bowl. Although they are labyrinth fish, you can have an air pump. They like to hide and when they rest they prefer small cozy spaces. So you have some rocks which provide hiding spaces.Betta are better left alone. They are picky about their food. Don't overfeed.. just feed once a day and you can even skip a day if you feel like. They like attention, they may even respond to human actions. They are a fun fish.

Yes, there the best fish. They don't need great big tanks with filters. Just buy a pretty bowl or vase fill it with water and put a betta fish in. They live longer then gold fish too. THERE BEATIFUL

bettas are pretty hardy fish when it comes to containers to put them in , if u only plan on one betta a 1 to 2 gallon aqurium is ok , walmart and other pet stores sale w2hat they call betta tanks , , if u plan on getting more bettas rember to keep the males seperated , u can put a male and female together but they may fight as well if the female s ignores the males advances , males are bubble nesters , they will build a bubble nest when there ready to spawn , a female is ready when u spot the white spot on her ovaduct , as well when she despays vertical lines instead of horizontal lines on her belly

Everybody has given you good answers, just remember this one too.
Bettas are also known as "fighting fish" so only buy 1 male. If you put in 2 male bettas, it'll be like watching a c0ck fight within minutes.
It's okay for to put in a male and a female but just don't do 2 males.
