I live in the United States but I really want to move to South America. I know everyone says that this is the greatest country on Earth but in my eyes it's really not. If there is anyone that has a lot of information on Uruguay that I should know, or has lived there please respond to this.

Hi there, Im Uruguayan, and I have been to the US several times.
I dont see a reason for which you would want to move to Uruguay, just dont get me wrong, Im not saying that Uruguay is not a nice place, I just wonder for what reason you want to move.
Maybe looking for a more quiet place.

The US is a much more developed country, but at the same time if you have a good financial situation you will not feel a lack of anything in Uruguay (from touristic places, areas to live, hospitals, etc).
Also, how did you choose Uruguay, did you check a South America map and just choosed it, or did you like it for any reason.

Here is some little information for you... This is about Montevideo... here (like everywhere) you have the nice and expensive areas (more safe) and also the poor areas. You can live in the nice area just nearby the sea, or else in other nice areas in the city.
The economy is cheaper than the US of course if you have american dollars. Everything from groceries to rents is much cheaper. Any person who comes from the US will find Uruguay to be a cheap place.
Also there are a few academies in which you can learn spanish taught by english speaking teachers.
In summer you have nice hot weather, an average of 32 celcius degrees, and winter is cold about 5 to 10 degrees (less at night)but no snow happens.
An important issue for you is how to legally stay as a resident in the country. You will not have any problems to enter the country as a tourist, but then I dont know how it works for a foreigner to live here. Maybe you can contact the Uruguayan embassy in the states, or the American embassy in uruguay after you arrive.

Like the other person who answered said, it would be a good idea to visit for a couple weeks and see if you like it.

I dont know what else to tell you, of course you may have a lot of questions, feel free to ask.
Hope this info was helpful for you.

I say go for it but I would visit for a few weeks to see if you truly want to immigrate there. Good luck. Can't give much info on Uruguay - never been there but you can get books, use the net, and get movies about it.
