Absolutely not. Too many different ideas, cultures, religiins, etc. . Although it doesn't always work at it's best, the United Nations was a wonderful idea and should continue to be improved. It can be a great way for countries to cooperate while keeping home rule in tact. It has it's faults, but it's probably saved the world from several wars, though it obviously needs to work harder on that account. There's no way of knowing - kind of like the whole millenium scare everyone makes fun of now. How do we know the y2k efforts didn't avoid world wide catastophes? We don't and we never will. In the same way, the UN has probably prevented several wars, though we'll never know.

No, not under this present world condition. Countries each want to rule themselves, but not in the same way. There's too much confusion between leaders and countries for one person to lead. Nobody wants to give up their rule to someone else (all world leaders, except one, would have to do that in order for only one to rule). It's totally unrealistic to think that all the different cultures in today's world would agree on who should rule all of them, and on what their laws should be (each country has its own laws). Just as an example, who could convince North Korea to submit to someone else's rule? Or China? Or etc., etc., etc.

On the other hand, there is one who is qualified to do just that, but that is a question (or discussion) for the religion forum. For this forum, no....it is not possible in today's world.

Well, I hate to refer to Star Trek in order to answer a serious question but Gene Roddenberry was a pretty far seeing individual and he felt that in order for all of the world to be united we would have to make first contact with an extraterrestrial intelligence. Sorry, I know that's not a very scientific answer but it does make sense. So long as we are isolated from any kind of interstellar community we will continue to have the kind of discord which has seperated men from men ever since mankind stood up on his hind legs and said, "Here I am, this is mine, and you can't have any!"
