My friends don't really seem up for doing anything and I am not getting any gifts except cash to help me repay my debts. I did want to do something but I keep suggesting things getting luke warm responses and talking myself out of doing anything. I've already had to shift the party because a guy I know has his birthday the same week and is having his party on my birthday and my mates are going to that one. So should I just forget the whole thing as to not risk a dissappointingly poor party I can't really afford, or should I plan the whole thing (I will even have to bake my own birthday cake if I want one) and just hope it will be fun.
I can't really just go to the pub as I am an alcoholic and going into drinking establishments makes me nostalgic for alcohol.
I wanted to go to a museum at one point but as nobody wants to go with me and I don't want to go alone that is out.

I can't do anything at home as my family hate my having friends over. I can't go to the other guy's party without spending £25 or more on a taxi.
I would love to do a fancy dress party except I can guarantee nobody except me would dress up. I don't think I will bother baking a cake for my birthday as I need to bake a cake next week for a house warming some friends are having.
