First let me say this is not a job for you.
You have what is called an interference engine
That means if the belt breaks or you install it wrong, it will bend all the valves
This will result in engine damage.
Please take it to a mechanic.
If you still want to do the job, go to autozone and get a manual on your car.
You must follow it to the letter and you must aline the cam(s) and the crank .

Highly recommend that if you have never attemped to do this you change your mind and have it professionally done.

Now If you chose to do this you will need to get a heynes manual, or something simular to this, you can get this from your local auto parts store. You will never to verify that it is not an interferance engine. If it is you will need to take the heads off and have them repaired at a local machine shop. Make sure you replace time belts and ALL componets. this might be a good time to look into replacing your water pump while you have the motor half apart. Good luck.

definite dextron or dextron/mercon 3 is authentic, al older Mazdas and manuals are m3 the more moderen ones are mercon v it quite is a foul fluid and burns up thanks to truly. we flush all of it the time at out dearler.

Pull the front timing cover and lossen the tensioner.Make sure no.1 cylinder is at top dead center.
