I am 13 and have never had my period before. I have been getting discharge for abou a year now. Sorry if this is groos, but my discharge was brown yesturday and today. It is a light brown. Is it my first period? I had it one day, then it went away.

Sounds like it to me. Mine was brown at first, too. Congratulations ! (It's really not so bad !)

I agree with the others, though....ask your mom or the school nurse just in case it's something else that needs attention.

you are on your way to womanhood. :O) Congratulations. :O) That is when I firsted started my period. Your body is going through hormonal changes. If it continues to flow, wear a pad, and change it 3-4 hours and it will probably last 7 days, and will more than likely go through the 28-day monthly cycle. Eat yogurt to balance the vagina out. It is nothing to be ashamed of but I think you need to tell your mom and she'll make an appt. for you to see a Gynecologist so he or she can examine you to be sure things are going as they should.

im not really sure if you had it. but whem you have your petiod its red and bloody. when i first had mine i had cramps. and i knew i had mine because it was blood. maybe you should talk to your mom about it. if it still happens in a few days have her make an appointment.

Most likely it is seeing that you have never had a cycle before. Tell your parent to take you to the doctors. Welcome to the wonderful world of womanhood!

why dont you ask a female adult?
do you have a mom or an aunt?
the school nurse is a good idea as well...

tell your mom or guardian so they can take you to a female dr. it could be your period or it could be some kind of infection

ya it is probly ur frist one i would just wear a pad or tampod just to make shore

More than likely it is.........thats what happened to me.....but just to make sure.....I would go to the doctor.
