You just started out with your period and I have heard from other girls this happens sometimes. See your Gyn anyway and let her/him know, maybe there is something you can do about.

I had this going on for seven months...bleeding almost nonstop with only a few days of spotting. It turned out to be a certain type of cyst, not one they do surgery for or anything, caused by additional hormones pumping down there when extra weight is there for too long. I got rid of the problem on my own by going on brisk walks again. (Had been on one doctor's orders not to do that, because it aggravates other health problems, but it's good for me and I can't take birth control.) It took less than a week for it to cease. It tried to come back one week later, there was some spotting, but as I lose more weight from there, I've resumed a regular and SHORT, L I G H T period. Hurts, always has, but it's less days and not so bad.

You might be fine, but there might be a problem too.
Too much bleeding can cause problems so it's better to see a doc just to make sure.
When you first start, it can be irregular, thats normal because your body is going through huge change.
Now that you started it is a good idea to get a check-up anyway, just because you are maturing and now have other concerns that you can talk to a doc about.
Go see the doctor, if nothing else, just to put your mind at ease.

The first year of starting your period is not going to be regular but if you're bleeding that often tell your mom to make another appointment and keep it even if it stops again better safe than sorry Good Luck

It's pretty normal for it to be irregular at first. If it makes you feel better go to the doctor anyways.
