Michael Moorcocks "Elric" stories with either James Marsters or Julian Sands playing Elric. Moorcocks stories are unique among heroic fantasy tales & if done right would make great movies.
( On the other hand, seeing how badly they screwed up Conan, maybe I should quit while I'm ahead!)

Any book by Amelia Atwater-Rhodes. But Preferably Hawksong or Demon in My View.
Or Sabriel by Garth Nix that would be awesome too.
